Detailing is performing an extremely thorough cleaning, polishing and waxing of an automobile. This includes cleaning the inside and outside of the vehicle to produce a showroom quality detail.

Clay is a mixture of a clay base and a variety of abrasives. Clay along with a lubricant is used to remove any paint contamination, road grime, tar, bugs, rust, tree sap, and even paint over spray. All of these substances can be removed using a clay bar. Claying does not replace polishing and we recommend getting a clay service once or twice a year.

The purpose of polishing is to remove contamination, swirls, scratches and other imperfections from the paint. In contrast to the clay, which removes contamination from the surface of the paint, buffing penetrates the paint. Polish is used to remove any light oxidation and fine scratches that may appear in your paint. It can also be used to remove light imperfections such as swirl marks or water spots.

Waxing is the ultimate protection for your paint after claying and polishing. Remember wax melts when it comes in contact with heat, so if you live hot climate like Florida, you will need to have your vehicle waxed on a regular basis.

It’s a chemical reaction between atmospheric pollutants and the paint’s pigments. The oxidation of conventional car paint creates an ever-growing layer of scum on the paint’s surface. In conventional finishes, the scum is “dead paint” the oxidized top color layer of paint. In clear coat finishes, what’s oxidized is the see-through protective top layer of the clear coat. Unless the finish is regularly detailed and the scum removed, the oxidation layer thickens, builds and dulls the surface of the paint. Waxing alone does not remove the oxidation it merely covers it up. No amount of waxing can revitalize the oxidized paint’s original color or vibrancy. The only way to bring back the vibrancy is with a complete detail.

On average, our clients have their cars detailed at least bi-weekly receive a wax service every three to four months. We offer excellent monthly and quarterly detail maintenance programs to cater to your vehicle’s specific needs.
